Neal Payton Appointed to the Board of the Westside Urban Forum

Torti Gallas and Partners, Inc. is pleased to announce that Neal I. Payton, AIA, LEED AP+ has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Westside Urban Forum (WUF). The WUF is a networking organization dedicated to the land use dialogue impacting the Westside of Los Angeles, California. They are a group of developers, planners, designers, architects and community members who are engaged in all aspects of planning and development. Their goal is to increase the quality of policy discussions affecting Los Angeles' Westside.
Neal I. Payton, AIA, LEED AP+, is a Senior Principal at Torti Gallas and Partners where he directs the firm’s West Coast office in Downtown Los Angeles. Projects extend from central Texas, to the Pacific Northwest as well as throughout southern California and Hawaii, including urban design for the Los Angeles Metro’s Westside extension of its Purple Line, a.k.a., “the subway to the sea,” and the Wyvernwood Redevelopment, a 70-acre Specific Plan in Boyle Heights. He recently worked with the City of Oceanside, CA on the revitalization of a 3-mile stretch of Coast Highway, winning a California APA award for Outstanding Neighborhood Design, and with the City of Redlands on a Downtown Specific Plan. Outside of the region, he is working with a Public Private Partnership in Austin, Texas, a Station Area Plan and Code for the “end of the line” rail station in Leander, Texas, and in Honolulu, Hawaii he is directing the creation of a Form-Based Code for the Kaka’ako Redevelopment Area.
