John Torti will be a featured speaker at the 25th Anniversary Symposium of Kentlands, one of the first and most successful New Urbanist projects in the country. This two-day event brings the original New Urbanist planners, Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, to Kentlands for a look back at the original planning charrette, the community today, and a conversation on the future of Kentlands and New Urbanism worldwide. A walking tour and a series of Panel Discussions or “Ted Talks” focusing on the past, present and future of Kentlands are also part of the symposium. These talks will be led by various individuals involved in the design of Kentlands but will also include residents of the community who have a more distinct perspective on living in the Kentlands. John Torti will participate in a panel discussion with Bob Gibbs and Colin Greene. Opening remarks will be made by Andres Duany and closing remarks by Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk.
