Torti Gallas and Partners is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of Aertson Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee.
Situated along the sweeping bend of Broadway and 21st Street adjacent to the northeast entrance of Vanderbilt University, Aertson Midtown provides a dynamic and vibrant gateway to the 21st Street commercial corridor of Nashville. Covering 1.77 acres, the 17-story, 600,000 SF mixed-use development includes 350 apartments, a 180-room full-service Kimpton hotel and 35,000 square feet of ground level retail space. It will bring 630 parking spaces and, through the hotel, approximately 6,500 square feet of meeting space to the area.
The massing and architectural language of the building sensitively break down the expansive length of the site into a contextually appropriate scale, giving the appearance of multiple buildings composing one block. Dormers, mansard roofs, bays and balconies strengthen the sense of character and local identity of the place, unmistakably identifying the project with the great city of Nashville and the neighboring historic Vanderbilt University.
Developed and constructed by Buckingham Companies, Aertson Midtown will open in phases with completion estimated to be late 2016.
