Torti Gallas’ design for LifeSci Village will transform Percontee's former sand and gravel quarry and the County’s unutilized Site 2 property, totaling 290-acres, into a world-class mixed-use bioscience village. This vibrant bioscience employment and research center will also feature a variety of housing choices, trails, parks and outdoor spaces, educational facilities, restaurants, shops, and other sought-after entertainment and services amenities.
Site 2, located off of Route 29 and Industrial Parkway, is adjacent to the 130-acre consolidated headquarters of the Food and Drug Administration, the site of the anticipated new Washington Adventist Hospital and the 185-acre Percontee, Inc., a sand and gravel processing facility owned by the Gudelsky family, well-known local and regional real estate and land developers with a long-history of projects in Montgomery County and throughout the region.
