Construction Administrator

The Senior Construction Administrator leads the construction phase of complex projects, ensuring that all fieldwork aligns with design intent, contract documents, building codes, and client expectations.

This position acts as the primary point of contact during construction, coordinating closely with owners, contractors, consultants, and internal design teams to proactively manage quality, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Design team and field operations throughout construction.
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and prepare detailed field observation reports.
  • Conduct regular site visits to verify conformance with approved design and documentation.
  • Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and consultants to resolve design issues and maintain clear communication.
  • Assess payment applications, evaluate change orders, and maintain accurate project records.
  • Identify and track construction deficiencies through resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of drawing updates and revisions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of construction administration experience with an architectural  firm.
  • Experience with complex residential and concrete construction projects required
  • Proficiency in Revit preferred.
  • Experience with precast concrete garage components, NAVFAC, Design‑Build, or multi-family projects a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Work Environment

  • Field-based onsite position with active, continuous involvement in daily project site operations
  • Must be in the Hampton Roads Region (Norfolk / Virginia Beach / Newport News, VA)
