Torti Gallas + Partners (TG+P) is celebrating the 20th anniversary of TG+P West, our Los Angeles-based office established in September 2005. Founded in 1953, TG+P worked on several high-profile projects in California in the early 2000s, including Pacific Beacon and family housing neighborhoods at the San Diego Naval Facilities Command. Two long-time firm leaders, Neal I. Payton and Charles Coleman, made the move to LA to form TG+P West and lead planning and architecture projects west of the Mississippi.
They soon found success, and over the years the team in LA, working with colleagues across the nation, have brought TG+P’s dedication to architecture, urban design, planning, and placemaking to the west coast. TG+P West has made its mark in designing places and buildings that transform neighborhoods, promote walkable urbanism and community pride, and encourage sustainable and healthy lifestyles.
“I am proud of our accomplishments, and the impact TG+P West has made, in partnership with our clients, colleagues, consultants, and communities. Twenty years has gone by quickly, and I look forward to a continued bright future” - Murphy Antoine, President, TG+P
TG+P West has extended our work beyond Southern California - from affordable housing projects like MacArthur Park in LA and Alice Griffith in San Francisco, to transit oriented development including Montclair Station, currently under construction in the Inland Empire, to comprehensive plans for iconic neighborhoods including Expo Park and Downtown Santa Monica, to significant projects in Denver, CO and throughout Texas. TG+P shapes and transforms neighborhoods for the better by enhancing value, safety and livability.
In the coming months, we will highlight 20 projects that epitomize TG+P West’s work over the past 20 years.
