Public Realm Plan

The City of Santa Ana, California identified five Focus Areas in their latest General Plan near major travel corridors that will see significant changes to accommodate future growth. TG+P worked with the city to develop a Public Realm Plan to expand opportunities for development in these areas. The Public Realm Plan offers a roadmap for building a more livable, sustainable, inclusive, and economically thriving city. Collaborating with residents, civic institutions, and private stakeholders, TG+P centered the community’s vision for itself throughout the design process. Corridor plans, conceptual renderings, and design guidelines informed by extensive site and literature reviews and market assessments provide the building community with development expectations to guide efficient and complementary designs and review processes. The creation of a Public Realm Plan for these five Focus Areas is a critical step in aligning the city’s General Plan goals of fostering sustainable growth, promoting equity, enhancing mobility, boosting economic vitality, improving public health and safety, and preserving cultural heritage.
